Earlier this year we made a proud announcement about the future of the agency. We decided to simplify our name, so henceforth we shall be known as Y&R London. The change is something we considered in 2016, and now with David Patton joining as our Global President, it seemed a perfect time to harness the potential of our network. The name streamlines us in the minds of clients and the industry. Becoming Y&R London doesn’t impact our extensive creative capacity, but does create an opportunity for us to evolve as part of the wider network.
In 2016 the Y&R network had an impressive year, they became #3 Global Agency Network at Cannes Lions, winning 99 Lions, and regionally, Y&R Europe was awarded Most Effective European Agency Network at the Effies. Last year we appointed a new management team of Jon Sharpe as CEO, Jonathan Burley as new CCO and Emily James as new CSO. We also won Premier League, Lombard Odier, Chanel, Visit England and were re-appointed to the Government Communications Roster.
“Becoming Y&R London is a small but important step change for the agency. In the UK we are increasingly a hub for pan-European and global relationships, becoming Y&R London is the natural response to this demand and will allow our clients, people and partners to take full advantage of the Y&R network.” Jon Sharpe, CEO, Y&R London
